Viral Influence @ The Arvada Center

I’m thrilled to announce that this piece was invited to show at the upcoming show Viral Influence: Art in the Time of Coronavirus, at The Arvada Center in Arvada, Colorado.

“This exhibit attempts to capture the vast outpouring of creativity and artwork that came out of Colorado’s stay-at-home orders, various shutdowns, and other responses to the pandemic.”

This piece is a perfect illustration for me of the state of mind induced by events of the past year. While creating this work, I employed a whole new bag of tricks to push the edges of my previous way of knowing. My intention was to create something harmonious, but the reminder of something slightly sinister peaked its head through. In the end, I was forced to surrender to the reality that presented itself, rather than the one I had intended.
